Loris Middle School has two full-time guidance counselors, Mrs. Shannan Hall and Mrs. Shirley Hendrix, who work together to implement a guidance program that meets the needs of all students. They work with the administration and staff to plan programs that will enhance our school's vision.

Our school counselors provide classroom guidance, career guidance, and both individual and group guidance as needed. They also enroll new students and try to make the transition a smooth one. They coordinate testing including GT, PACT, PSAT, and Duke TIP.

Our counselors provide a safe environment for students to talk about their concerns, special issues, and feelings. It is their goal to help students build positive self-concepts and develop healthy relationships.
